Autumn 2018 - Start failing

The galvo arrives.

First I will just try to get the motors moving. In the box there are many pieces I have no clue what they are for. I start missing things in the tutorial. I have no idea about electricity and seems like the first thing I should do is to power the motors with -15 Volts. How -15? It also states that the power supply needs to be connected to the 220V grid, and that's obviously dangerous. I start feeling a bit uncomfortable with the plan. The pack also comes with two boards which I also don't know what they are for. But it says they support a specific amount of amperes to control the power of the motors. Or something like that. I don't even know what an ampere exactly is.

After a couple of days reading about the topic I conclude that the purchase was a mistake. I have no idea how to make it work. I see a lot of similar projects where they use arduino. Maybe it's not a bad idea to just start moving a single motor a little bit. Something as simple as that already throws enough questions.

Anyway, what is still keeping me busy is WikiMenu. I have managed to publish a first prototype of the app in the Google Play Store. There is still a hell lot to do, but at least this project is really on my field of expertise. I know how to do it. It's just a matter of investing time.
